Wow- the same old tired argument. Elvis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Fats Domino, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins...all these guys were innovators IN THEIR OWN WAYS. Elvis also covered Perkins' "Blue Suede Shoes"...it had nothing to do with "ripping off." People say Elvis stole "Hound Dog" from Big Mama Thorton, the black artist who sang it first- without acknowledging that Leiber & Stoller- 2 white guys who wrote it. Rock-n-roll is a melting pot of black AND white.
